About Richard

I am a parent, a scientist, a parks commissioner, and committed volunteer who has called Dublin home for my family since 2019. Like many Dublin families, my wife and I chose to settle in Dublin because of its reputation as a safe, diverse, vibrant, and family friendly community. We are proud to be raising our young son in this great community. I am running for City Council because I want to make sure we sustain the high quality of life Dublin offers, while striving to make Dublin a more affordable place to live.

Born and raised in Northwest Ohio, I moved to the East Bay after college to pursue a graduate degree in chemistry. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a Ph.D. in Chemistry, I began my current career as a research scientist in process chemistry at a biotech company.

In 2020, I participated in the Inside Dublin course offered by the City to learn about our local government. In 2021 I was appointed to the Dublin Parks and Community Services Commission, an advisory body to the City on parks, facilities and recreation programs. For the past 2 years I have served as Chair of the Commission.

As a member of the Parks and Community Services Commission, I provided input and feedback on new park design, parks and recreation programs, and program fees, and supported City events. As Chair, I have led our Commission meetings and fostered inclusion on our commission. Through my experience on the Parks Commission I have learned a lot about how our city works, and I have seen firsthand how the City can deliver a high quality of life for our residents.

Outside of work and community service, I love spending time with my family. Some of our favorite things to do are visiting Dublin’s many parks, hiking, exploring new restaurants, and
traveling. I also enjoy bicycling and playing baseball.
